Cookie policy

No cookies to accept

You won't find a consent banner at the bottom of the page, because I don't have any non-essential cookies for you to accept. Here's what's actually in use.

Last updated: August 23, 2026.

Why there's no banner

EU law (the ePrivacy directive) requires prior consent only for cookies that aren't strictly necessary — profiling, marketing, or analytics that identify who's browsing. This site uses none of that: no third-party cookies, no advertising pixels, no cross-site tracking. A banner asking for consent to cookies that don't exist would just be theatre, so there isn't one.

What the site actually uses

  • No cookies. The site doesn't set any cookie, technical or profiling.
  • Visit statistics. I use Vercel Web Analytics to count visits and top pages, in aggregate. It's built to work without cookies or unique identifiers: it doesn't recognize you across visits and doesn't cross-reference data with other sites. That's why it doesn't require consent.
  • Browser session storage. On an article page I use sessionStorage — not a cookie — to remember you've already read it, so I don't count the same read twice in the same session. That data stays only in your browser, doesn't identify you, isn't shared with anyone, and disappears when you close the tab.
  • Theme and motion preference. The site's animations respect your operating system's prefers-reduced-motion setting: that's not data I collect, it's a preference your browser communicates automatically to pages that respect it.

If anything changes

If I ever add a tool that requires consent (profiling, advertising, cross-site tracking), this page will be updated before it goes live, and a real banner with real choices will appear — not a fake "accept" button.

Managing cookies and storage from your browser

Even though this site doesn't use them, you can always check cookies and site data from your browser settings: searching "cookies" in Chrome, Firefox, Safari, or Edge settings gets you to the panel for viewing and clearing what any site — including this one — has stored.
